Well , I'll start by saving us both a lot of time.
Obviously if you are the type of person looking for a site build it review, then you are already aware of Site Build It ( SBI ) and so I don't need to tell you what we already know about site build it and what it does.
But just a quick note for anyone who has found their way here by accident. Site Build It, is an all in one internet-business-in-a-box product that shows you how you can take any area of passion, expertise or experience that you may have and turn it into a online business.
And lots of the businesses it creates end up in the top 1% of the internet.
Ok, that's it for the explanations I promise.
Let me just start out by saying that at our company
Wonderweb, we are web designers and internet marketers by trade.
So it may seem a little strange to you, to see us reviewing a product that could actually put us out of business and make us obsolete.
I mean who needs web designers if there is a do-it-yourself product that gets results just as good as the professionals right ?
Well, although lots of people want to build their own internet businesses , there are still a lot of people that want to employ people like us to do it for them, so I don't think we need to start looking for new jobs just yet.
But it is a good chance to take a look at the competition and see exactly what their product offers, so that's what we did.
So here is our own personal Site Build It review, from the point of view of a web design and internet
marketing company.
Well why not just start at the top, the price - $299. That's a very inexpensive price for a tool that can not only research your business and marketplace, but build and market your site.
We would charge a hell of a lot more than that to build and market any site, even a 5 page micro site.
And there is a money back guarantee / risk free trial so if you don't like it or don't think it's for you then you get your money back.
A good feature and selling point.
So then what ?
Well for us as web designers and internet marketers there are certain stages to go through to build a website that works and they have to be followed in order.
1) Brainstorm Your Ideas
What market are you thinking of going into ? Are you starting from scratch ? Do you have an existing business or product ?
If you are starting from scratch then think about your own unique areas of passion, knowledge and interest. What experience do you have ? What do you love to do ? What can you talk authoritatively about ? What do you know that can solve people's problems?
2) Market Research
Once you have a few ideas, you have to see which are commercially viable. After all it's no use having a great idea if no one is looking for your product.
On the internet this means keywords and keyword research. This is where Site Build It does a very good job.
For us as web designers this is the most important part of creating a successful website and internet business, and it is the part that we see most often overlooked.
The Brainstormer feature of Site Build It, shows you how many people are searching each month for the keywords you think will be good for your business.
It compiles an exhaustive list of other keywords for you so that you can select the best ones to build your site around.
It checks the competition for those keywords, and suggests which will be the most profitable ones for you.
In short , it makes sure that you build your site on solid foundations instead of building it on sand.
Which is a mistake that we see repeated all to often in our business.
Now granted, this is something that you can do with a web browser and the google keyword tool for free, and it will give you a good idea of your potential marketplace.
It's just that Site Build It is more exhaustive.
3) Build It
Once you have your number 1 site topic, your keywords and marketplace all researched and decided upon, it's time to build it.
Now, Site Build It does have two options , the option where they will build it for you.
And the DIY option, now I've never employed them to build a site for me ( why would I as a web designer ? ), so can only comment on the DIY option.
The build it tool is a very simple block by block system builder. In fact I would say that if you can use Microsoft word and can copy and paste pictures then you can use this piece of kit.
It is as simple as it gets. One of the things that Site Build It prides itself on and makes a big point of is that it takes care of all the technology side for you,
And to be fair, it really does.
In fact for us, it was almost too easy to use and simple. My brother does a lot of our web designs and he found it to be a bit too simplistic for his tastes. But then he is a
professional web designer.
For the average person wanting to start an online business , then the site builder builds very nice, simple, clean and fresh looking web sites.
And it makes sure that they are built with Search Engine Optimization in mind. The whole theory behind Site Build It's web design is that
the purpose is to rank well in the search engines.
4) Market It
Probably the number one place people slip up when it comes to their internet business is marketing it.
A web site is only as good as the customers it attracts and the sales it brings in.
It could be the greatest bells and whistles site in the world, but if nobody's seeing it, then you don't have a business.
Site Build It is designed on the principles of free traffic. It wants it's sites to be ranked well in the search engines and deliver warm, targeted visitors to it's sites.
And how does it do that ?
Well by building the pages around buyer keywords. Tight , relevant keywords that the brainstormer has proved to be the most likely to buy from you.
Then building the pages with those keywords in mind, from the heading , the title , the tags, the links, the anchor text, everything is tightly focused to have one goal in mind,
To deliver customers !
And this is a very good philosophy and way to build a website and internet business.
And it does deliver results
It will also automatically submit and re-submit your pages to the search engines, every time there is an update.
It helps with paid advertising such as Pay Per Click, it has a Link Exchange where you can build your link popularity.
It also shows you how to build your own E-zine and get a targeted list of customers.
Ok, so what else ?
Well the customer service is very good, prompt and helpful and polite. They don't do any advertising, so the whole company has grown on word of mouth and affiliate's , so the service has to be top-notch, and to be fair , any problems that I had , they always resolved in a timely fashion.
There is a also a very big forum / community of SBI users that offer help, tips and advice , and answer questions.
This is a quite a rare thing online, internet business can be a bit of a cut throat world but the owner , Ken Evoy likes to foster a family/community atmosphere and does a good job of it.
So, any negatives ?
Well, get rich quick it ain't !!
I don't think you are that type of person or you wouldn't be reading this,
But SBI is built upon a very real, honest, common sense approach to making a successful internet business.
Their mascot is the tortoise for goodness sake !
They basically take the opinion that it takes between 3-6 months to rank well in the search engines and to start building your business.
Which isn't everyone's cup of tea.
But it is real, it is honest about it's methods, no " make six figures next month " rubbish, and from what I've seen their methods work.
